This Privacy Policy explains how StudioSound.ai ("we," "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and services (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: Name and email address when you sign up, and your password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see it in plain text).
• Content you create: Prompts you enter, images you upload, and content you generate. Generated images are stored in your account so you can access them later.
• Usage information: How many generations you use per month (needed to enforce plan limits), the tools you use, and basic technical data such as browser type.
• Payment information: Handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never receive or store your full card number. We store your subscription status and Stripe customer reference.
• Newsletter: Your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter.
• Generation records: When you use our AI tools, we keep a record of your inputs (prompts, project details, artist name and handle if provided), any research compiled for your request, and the outputs generated. This powers features like reopening saved release plans, and helps us improve the Service.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide and operate the Service (generating content, saving your assets, enforcing plan limits);
• To process subscriptions and payments through Stripe;
• To communicate with you about your account, transactions, and — if you opted in — our newsletter;
• To prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Use;
• To improve the Service.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. AI Processing and Public Web Research

When you generate content, your prompts and uploaded images are sent to the third-party AI providers that power the relevant tool so they can produce your result. These providers process this data under their own terms and privacy policies. Do not include sensitive personal information in prompts.

Public web research: When you provide an artist name and social handle to personalization features (such as the Release Planner), our systems search publicly available sources — such as music platforms, social media, and news — to gather information about that artist and comparable artists, solely to personalize your results. We only access information that is already public, and the research compiled is stored with your generation record.

Improving our AI: We may use generation records in anonymized and aggregated form to analyze, improve, and train StudioSound.ai's features and AI systems, as described in our Terms of Use. We do not sell this data.

4. Service Providers

We share information only with the providers necessary to run the Service:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage;
• Stripe — payment processing and billing;
• Vercel — website hosting;
• AI model providers — content generation as described above;
• GitHub — hosting of site images and assets.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

We use strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and make the Service work (for example, your authentication session). Stripe may set cookies during checkout for fraud prevention. We do not use advertising cookies on the Service.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/SSL), hashed passwords, access controls on our database, and secrets management for API credentials. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you as required by law in the event of a breach affecting your personal information.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your account information and generated content while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@studiosound.ai; we will delete your data within 30 days except where we must retain records (for example, payment records required for tax and accounting).

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@studiosound.ai. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any newsletter email or by contacting us.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice (for example, by email or an in-app notice). The effective date above shows when this policy was last revised.
